About

” My relationship with nature is the main source of inspiration in my work. Born and raised in a medieval town in Northern Italy, I’ve been in close contact with nature since I was young. This relationship is full of memories relating to seeds, plants, people and places that are translated into ceramic works, becoming time capsules of my memories and experiences. The porcelain forms, created through the processes of slip casting and hand building, create the potential for something new or different. The porcelain material allows me to express a connection to the earth and the natural environment. Resin, used side by side with the ceramic material in some of my works, is a view of the future and underlines our strong negative impact on the natural environment through industrialization.
How the viewer might consider elements of nature in fabricated ceramic objects and how the attention of the viewer might be captured by the colour and form of the object are important for me. My works are characterised by repetition of organic forms and strong glaze colour. Space is created within the forms, as an event and as an experience.
My aim is to create work that functions as objects of desire that are intriguing for the viewer making them take a second look, to discover something they might not expect to find. “
